Good Samaritan: DIG’s wife saves lives of two injured youths

Angul:  Seemagupta Bhol, wife of DIG, north-central range Narasingha Bhol, is lapping up appreciation flooding from different quarters these days for being a Good Samaritan and saving the lives of two young men who were injured in a road mishap.

The incident took place Wednesday night but it came to the fore only recently after the young men narrated the whole episode.

Seemagupta along with her children were returning from Bhubaneswar to their official quarters in Angul town Wednesday. It was about 11pm. There was a little bit chill outside.

It was when their vehicle was passing of the power grid near Phulapada that she could see two people lying by the roadside.

Seeing no one was stopping at the spot to rescue them, she asked the driver to take the car to the two youth.

Realising it that they were in need of immediate medical attention, she asked her children to get down from the car and then with the help of the driver, carried them into the vehicle before asking the driver to take them to the district headquarters hospital (DHH).

Seemagupta and her children had to spend their time in the open near the power grid, braving the chill, before another vehicle came from Angul to pick them up.

Meanwhile, one of the two injured youths has been discharged from the DHH and the second one, identified as Sameer Sahu of Mahidharpur area under Banarpal police limits, who has received severe head injuries, is still undergoing treatment.
