Google CEO Sundar Pichai is one of the most successful persons in the world today. But his initial days were not bed of roses. He has struggled a lot as he came from a very modest background and lived in a small flat in Chennai, had no car to travel or a TV in the house.
During his study in the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, Pichai met Anjali whom he married later. They both were pursuing a degree in Metallurgical Engineering.
In the final year of their engineering, Sundar asked Anjali for marriage and without giving a second thought she said yes. The best part about this was Anjali knew everything about Sundar and where he came from but she still went ahead with the relationship.
Later, Sunder Pichai went to the USA to pursue higher degree and Anjali was left in India. Still they didn’t give up their love. Pichai in an interview revealed that he could not talk to her for six months as it was expensive to make a call during those days.
Soon Anjali joined him in the US. By the time Sundar got a job and was paid decently. He asked for permission from Anjali’s parents and the duo got married. After the wedding, both settled in the USA.
In an interview, Pichai said during his work in Google he received proposals from branded companies but Anjali suggested him to stay with Google, and look now he is the CEO of the biggest search engine.
They are proud parents of two children — a girl and a boy named Kavya and Kiran.
