Bhubaneswar: On the occasion of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s birth anniversary, Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik paid their tributes to the first Prime Minister Sunday.
On its Twitter page, the Odisha Governor’s Office wrote, “Honourable Governor pays his homage to Pandit #JawaharlalNehru on his birthday, celebrated as #Children’sDay. Children have immense potential and it is our responsibility to provide them an environment conducive to the development of their innate talent, expressed the Governor.”

Taking to his personal Twitter handle, the Chief Minister tweeted, “Humble tributes to first Prime Minister of independent India, Pt. #JawaharlalNehru on his birth anniversary, also celebrated as #ChildrensDay. His immense contribution towards freedom struggle and building a progressive and modern India will be remembered forever.”
It is pertinent to mention, an old letter (dated 14 November, 1950) written by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel to Nehru has gone viral on social media, which was shared today on Twitter by Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on the occasion of Nehru’s birth anniversary.
