Bhubaneswar: Odisha government is considering to provide land to aided schools and colleges in the state, informed Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Maheswar Mohanty.
A letter has been written to both School & Mass Education and Higher Education departments asking to provide details regarding amount of land under occupation of the educational institutions, number of students and pending dues to the Revenue department.
The policy will be prepared soon based on the data collected from the School & Mass Education and Higher Education departments, Mohanty said.
As per the decision at a meeting held Wednesday, the land will be handed over to the concerned departments instead of allotting directly to the educational institutions, he said.
Besides, the collectors have been asked to furnish the details at earliest to the Revenue department in a particular format about value of land occupied by the grant-in-aid and block grant schools and colleges in the districts.
