Bhubaneswar: The Vigilance sleuths Wednesday arrested an assistant section officer (ASO) at Office of the Engineer-in-Chief (Civil) here on charges of bribery.
“Dillip Kumar Bisoi has been taken into custody after he was caught receiving Rs 8,000 as bribe from Jatiranjan Ganapati Dehury Karanjiapada village under Patna police limits in Keonjhar on the pretext of facilitating the later with an ‘A-Class Contractor Licence’,” an official of the anti-corruption wing of the state police said, adding that a case (12/19) has been registered in this regard.
Sources said the Vigilance sleuths have also carried out searches at Bisoi’s residence at Rental Colony here.
A case has been registered against Bisoi and the accused forwarded to court.
