Group clash over land dispute leaves 6 critical

Bhadrak: Six people were critically injured in a group clash between two families over a land dispute at Charampa Baralapokhari village under Town police limits in Bhadrak district Thursday night. The injured were identified as Narahari Dalei, Bhagat dalei, Rabindra dalei, Manasi Dalei, Shradhanjali Senapti and Padmabati Senapati. According to reports, the land dispute between Dalei family and Senapati family in the village has been going on for the last four years. Some members of Senapati family who were lodged in the jail following a clash earlier were released from jail Thursday.

Following this, members of the two families again attacked each other with deadly weapons Thursday night. The scuffle left six of them critically injured. All the injured have been undergoing treatment at Bhadrak district headquarters hospital in critical condition and police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
