Ahmedabad: Hrithik Roshan-starrer “Super 30”, which is based on the life of Anand Kumar, who runs the Super 30 programme for IIT-JEE aspirants from poor families, has been made tax-free by the Gujarat government.
The film has already been made tax-free by the Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar governments. Kumar, the Patna-based educationist, feels the move will help take the film’s message of the value of merit and equal opportunities to all more teachers and students.
“Many thanks Hon’ble Gujarat CM Vijay Rupaniji for making ‘Super 30’ tax-free. Your kind gesture will help students and teachers watch the film and take its message. Thanks a lot,” Kumar tweeted Tuesday evening.
Hrithik, who essays Kumar’s character in the film, tweeted: “Thank you Vijay Rupaniji, for rewarding our efforts and declaring Super 30 tax-free in Gujarat. Team Super 30 is deeply overwhelmed by your kind gesture.”
The movie collected over Rs 50 crore at the box-office within three days of its release July 12 and is still going strong.
