Puri: The entire Gundicha temple complex has been given a complete facelift to host the presiding deities of Srimandir and make their stay comfortable for nine-day sojourn during the car festival.
Shree Jagannath Temple Chief Administrator Pradeepta Mohapatra told newsmen here that the Gundicha temple and the Rath parking place have been placed under CCTV surveillance.
This apart, the lions gate (Signhadwar) would also be brought under CCTV scanner for the Bahuda, Suna Besha and Niladri Bije of the Lord Jagannath and his siblings.
Twenty-six exhaust fans have been installed in Kothabhoga kitchen of the Gundicha temple while repairs to the temple structure were completed, Mahapatra said.
He said five donation boxes would be placed at different places of the temple complex while more boxes would be placed on four sides of each chariots after they reach the destination – Gundicha temple to enable devotees intending to donate.
The Daita and other concerned servitors had assured the temple administration to open the sick room gate by 8am July 13 and if everything goes as per schedule the deities would give darshan to public for about three hours in their Nabajouban Besha July 13 and thereafter preparations would be made for the car festival July 14, the chief administrator said.
