Gunupur MLA Trinath Gomango resigns from BJD

Bhubaneswar: Gunupur MLA Trinath Gomango resigned from primary membership of ruling BJD, alleging that he was tortured, sidelined and ignored in the party.

In his resignation letter to BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Gomango mentioned that neither he nor any of the honest party workers had been intimated about the Mishran Parva held March 16 in Gunupur. The move had hurt him, Gomango mentioned in his letter.

“I have been trying my best to maintain the peaceful atmosphere in my constituency but I am paying for it now. Some front line leaders in the district are now against me as I opposed their giving patronage to anti-socials. They are resorting to false propaganda against me in my constituency. I have been neglected in my party.  I have even been treated as a servant,” he said.

He also alleged that he had apprised Naveen about his grievances but they remained unaddressed.

Notably, Gomango had joined BJD in 2009 and elected from Gunupur on the party ticket in 2014 Assembly elections.
