Gurbaj confident of podium finish

Bhubaneswar, Dec 10: Indian midfielder Gurbaj Singh is confident of a podium finish for his team. Talking to reporters after the end of the training session Wednesday at the Kalinga Stadium here Gurbaj said: “That is quiet a realistic chance for us as we are improving with each and every game. We have the ability to beat any team of the world in our day,” stated Gurbaj.

While stating that the morale of the team is quite high after beating the Netherlands, the midfielder pointed out that confidence has increased manifold. “We are lot more confident now. So, beating Belgium will not be tough. Yes they are strong, but we have the potential to overcome them,” stated Gurbaj.

He also stated that there will be no specific strategy against the Belgians and the Indians will play to their strengths. “We will play our normal game. We have identified our mistakes by analysing the video footage and are working hard to rectify them,” stated Gurbaj.

Gurbaj, however, stated that local boy Birendra lakra, even though recovering is still a bit doubtful about the Belgium game. “But we will see what happens on the day of the match,” he informed.
