Guv to visit Malkangiri today

Malkangiri: Governor Professor Ganeshi Lal will begin a four-day tour of south Odisha Monday.

As per official sources, he will visit Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur and Rayagada districts during the four days. Taking stock of various developmental projects and interacting with school children will be the main focus of his visit.

He will begin the tour with his visit to Malkangiri Monday. The Governor is scheduled to reach Malkangiri at around 10:30 am. He is slated to visit Korukunda and Balimela blocks, a Saraswati Shishu Mandir and interact with DRDA officials the same day.

The next day, the Governor will leave for Nabarangpur. In Papadahandi block, he is scheduled to visit a SC/ST department’s girls’ high school. Besides, he will interact with the beneficiaries of Skill Development Centre and PRI members. Later, he is scheduled to address a programme of Bramha Kumaris at Nabarangpur.

The Governor will be touring Koraput Wednesday, where he will visit the Odisha Adarsh Vidyalaya at Pungur, local SHGs, HAL, Central University of Odisha and the SLN Medical College and Hospital.

On the last day of his tour, the Governor will visit Rayagada where he will attend a programme of distribution of Madhu Babu Pension Yojana and interact with the beneficiaries. He will also visit Himarpadi under Kumbhikota gram panchayat and inspect a cashew plantation farm (under MGNREGS) spread over 10 hectares.

Then, the Governor will interact with girl students at K Maligaon and women SHG members at Siriguda village. Thursday evening, the Governor will fly back to the Capital.

Meanwhile, the Malkangiri district administration has made all arrangements and tightened the security ahead of the Governor’s visit.
