Mumbai: Gulshan Grover known as ‘Badman’ in the Hindi film industry will celebrate his 64th birthday, September 21. The actor is often in the news for his image, never dreamt of becoming a hero. He was once offered a lead role in a South Indian film but he refused it.
Gulshan Grover has become synonymous with the word villain. In an interview some time back, Gulshan Grover has said that if he had been given the role of ‘Kattappa’, he would have portrayed it in a better fashion.
Gulshan Grover, who played negative roles in films like ‘Ram-Lakhan’ and ‘International Khiladi’, has said, “I enjoy doing challenging roles. I am greedy for good characters. When I saw ‘Baahubali’, I felt that SS Rajamouli created Katappa’s character beautifully. If I had been given that role, I would have done it better.”
Gulshan did a sensuous role in ‘Boom’ which also features Amitabh Bachchan in the pivotal role. Katrina Kaif made her debut in this. The film had an intimate scene between Katrina and Gulshan Grover which soon became the talk of the town at that time.
In his interview, Gulshan spoke openly about the film’s intimate scene. He said that in spite of many retakes, he and Katrina were not getting the right shot. So director Kaizad Gustad asked Katrina Kaif and Gulshan Grover to go ‘inside’ and practice.
Gulshan and Katrina went into the room and started rehearsing. However, they kept the door open. Meanwhile the legendary ‘Big B’ was passing by. Initially he was surprised when he saw what was going on. However, later he applauded both Gulshan Grover and Katrina Kaif for their efforts.
