Mumbai: Telugu films are watched by millions and it would not be wrong to suggest that actor Chiranjeevi is the primary reason for making Telugu films popular in India.
Chiranjeevi is a Telugu actor but he has also acted in Tamil, Kannada and Hindi films and is known as Megastar in the Telugu film Industry.

Chiranjeevi has proved his mettle starting from acting to politics. Known as Megastar, Chiranjeevi has received the South Indian Filmfare and Nandi Award. Not only this, he has also tried his hand in the Hindi film industry and has been praised for his first movie ‘Pratibandh’. Chiranjeevi’s son Ram Charan is also a superstar of the Telugu film industry.
Chiranjeevi’s real name is Konidela Siva Sankara Vara Prasad and he made his acting debut with the film ‘Punadhirallu’ in 1978.
Chiranjeevi was ruling the industry in the 80s and 90s. Eight of his films were released in the year 1979, and in the next year 14 big films were released and all of them were a hit at the box office.
Chiranjeevi carved himself a different identity through the film ‘Indra-The Tiger’ which was released 2002. Chiranjeevi has also done a remake of Munna bhai MBBS called Shankar Dada Zindabad (2007), which was loved by the audience.
Chiranjeevi’s upcoming film is ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’, which also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara and Anushka Shetty.
‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’ is the story of a freedom fighter, Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, who revolted against the British.
