Mumbai: Kajol is a Hindi film industry actress whose name is not much associated with controversy. Born 5th August, Kajol landed in controversy for a photoshoot.
This photoshoot dragged her to the headlines because of it was too bold for that era.
The photoshoot was done for the cover of one of Cine Blitz Magazine’s January issue in 1996. Rekha and Kajol were seen posing together in an intimate manner as they apparently wore nothing inside and fitted themselves in one single sweater.
Apart from this there was no cloth on their bodies and in that era, raised many eyebrows.
Talking about Kajol, she made her debut in Hindi films in 1992 with the movie ‘Bekhudi’ when she was a student. In 1997, her portrayal of Isha Diwan, a psychopath serial killer and obsessive lover, in ‘Gupt: The Hidden Truth’, was lauded by critics and proved to be a major turning point in her career which earned her a Filmfare Award for Best Performance in a Negative Role
Kajol belongs to a family that is very well connected with the film industry. Her father Shomu Mukherjee was a film director and producer. Shamu’s brothers were also associated with films. Her mother Tanuja and younger sister Tanishaa are also actresses. Her maternal aunt was the actress Nutan and her maternal grandmother, Shobhna Samarth, and great grandmother, Rattan Bai, were both involved in Hindi cinema.
Kajol married actor Ajay Devgn February 24, 1999. Kajol appeared in many films, with Ajay, Bobby Deol, Salman Khan and many other actors, but her and Shahrukh Khan’s pair was always a hit. The couple has worked together in several super hit films.
