Mumbai: You must have often heard about the phrase ‘love at first sight’. Something similar also happened to Hindi cinema’s action hero Suniel Shetty.
Suniel lost his heart to Mana even before he started his film journey. Suniel and Mana have been married for 28 years, but the relationship between the two is still strong as ever.
Mana was born 22 August 1965. So let us tell you about Mana’s love story on this special occasion:
Suniel first saw Mana at a pastry shop located at Nepean Sea Road in Mumbai where Suniel usually went to meet friends. At that time Suniel had long hair. Suniel lost his heart to Mana in his first meeting at the shop. He became so mad in her love that he first talked to Mana’s sister.
Suniel wanted Mana’s sister to introduce him to her. After several dates, Suniel realized that she was the one with whom he could spend the rest of his life. Suniel asked his common friend to hold a party and asked him to invite Mana. After this party, Mana went on a bike ride with Suniel then the two realized that they are made for each other.
Both Mana and Suniel are from different religions. Mana’s full name is Monisha Kadri. She belongs to both Punjabi and Muslim families while Sunil belongs to Bunt community of Karnataka. In such a situation, both Mana and Sunil’s family felt that their marriage could create problems due to different religions and because of this they both had to wait for nine years to get married.
Mana and Suniel tied the knot 1991. Suniel had not started his film career at that time. After their wedding, Suniel made his debut with the film ‘Balwaan’ (1992) opposite Divya Bharti. The film was hit at the box office and Suniel became a superstar.
