Mumbai: ‘Nadiya Ke Paar’ fame Sachin Pilgaonkar was born 17 August 1957 in Mumbai. The actor shares his birthday with his actress-wife Supriya Pilgaonkar.
The couple has an age difference of 10 years.
Sachin made his debut in the acting world at the age of four. Sachin’s first film was ‘Ha Maza Marg Ekla’ which was in Marathi language. After this, Sachin acted in around 65 films as a child artist.
His first lead role was in ‘Balika Badhu’ (1976) but he got recognition from the Rajshri Productions film ‘Geet Gaata Chal’.
Some of Sachin’s memorable films include ‘Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se’ and ‘Nadiya Ke Paar’. Later in the year 1994, the remake of ‘Nadiya Ke Paar’ was made titled ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun’ which was a super hit.
Sachin played a small but important role in many memorable films like ‘Sholay’, ‘Trishul’ and ‘Satte Pe Satta’. Amitabh Bachchan loved Sachin as his younger brother. Perhaps this was also the reason because of which Sachin appeared as a supporting actor in many of Amitabh’s films. Apart from films, Sachin has also appeared in many TV serials.
Sachin and Supriya have a daughter Shriya Pilgaonkar, who was seen as an actress in Shah Rukh Khan’s film ‘Fan’.
