Mumbai: Late superstar Vinod Khanna, the favourite cop we grew up watching in Indian cinema succumbed to cancer in April 2017. The veteran actor has several hit films such as Gaddaar, Amar Akbar Anthony, Jaane-Anjaane, Jurm and many others to his credit.

- He was popularly called “the monk who sold his Mercedes” and was also known by another name – Swami Vinod Bharti post his spiritual journey.
- He had made his debut with Sunil Dutt’s 1968 film, Man Ka Meet as a villain.
- Vinod was on the peak of his career when he quit films in search for spiritual satisfaction, which took him to Osho.
- Vinod was appointed as the minister for Culture and Tourism in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee cabinet in 2002. Later, he was appointed as the Minister of State for External Affairs.
- The actor starred in 47 multi-hero films like Ek Aur Ek Gyarah, Hera Pheri, Khoon Pasina, Amar Akbar Anthony, Zameer, Parvarish and Muqaddar Ka Sikandar between 1971-1982.
