Cuttack: Harish Chandra Murmu’s wonderful hat-trick and a Fagu Hembram double strike helped Town Club thrash YVGC 5-2 in a match of the FAO 1st Division football league here at the Barabati Stadium, Tuesday.
Harish gave Town Club the lead in the second minute before making it 2-0 three minutes later. Town Club continued their dominance and created a flurry of chances in the opposition box and were duly rewarded when Fagu added the third on 23 minutes.
The second half was much more interesting as four goals were scored in a span of 11 minutes. Fagu scored his second of the match just one minute into the second half before Harish completed his hat-trick seven minutes later.
However, YVGC tried to come back in the match with a double strike from Devananda Swain (54th, 57th) but that wasn’t enough.
In another match, Odisha Government Press (OGP) got a walkover as their opponents Club N Club failed to turn up.
