Patna: Police arrested the headmaster of a residential school in Patna block under Keonjhar district for allegedly harassing a Class III girl student Thursday. He was produced in the court Friday.
The accused has been identified as Nityananda Mohanty.
The incident came to fore after father of the minor lodged a complaint with the Turumunga police.
As news of the incident spread, parents of many students convened a meeting at the school and detained the teacher. About three to four similar instances surfaced against the accused teacher in the meeting.
Police personnel, meanwhile, reached the spot and rescued the teacher. They took him to the police station for interrogation. He was later arrested in connection with the incident, said the police.
