Headmaster held for misbehaving with schoolgirls

Bargaon: The police arrested the headmaster of Tudalaga Girls’ Residential High School under Bargaon police station limits in Sundargarh district Monday.

Laxminaryan Senapati was arrested on the basis of complaint that he was misbehaving with girl students.

Sources said the matter came out when a student told her mother about the misbehaviour of the headmaster. When parents discussed the matter it was found that other girls of the school had also experienced similar harassment from Senapati.

Parents approached School Managing Committee president Suresh Mahanandia regarding the matter, and he held talks with the parents and students.

When the parents and Mahanandia asked the headmaster about this he apologised to them and proposed to close the case based on mutual understanding.  But the angry parents lodged an FIR against Senapati at Bargaon police station.

Police rushed to the school and launched an investigation. SDPO Bijaya Kumar Nanda and SP Saumya Mishra also came to the school Monday.

The police arrested the headmaster and produced him in a court. They also sent him for medical examination.
