Angul: Health Minister Pratap Jena, who was here to attend the Independence Day celebration, met Dr Kamalakant Jena, who is undergoing treatment after sustaining a head injury in an attack by two police constables here Sunday.
Dr Kamalakant Jena, an ENT specialist at district headquarter hospital here, narrated the incident before the minister.
Two constables – H Nayak and Chintu Mahalik – had stopped Dr Jena who was on his way to the hospital for riding without helmet at police station square under Angul town police limits.
Later, they allegedly attacked him, causing head injury.
The constables were suspended following a decision at a meeting between the doctors and top police officials Monday.
