Bhubaneswar: With heavy rain lashing many areas of the state for the last two days, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre has predicted more showers in the entire coastal belt including interior and southern region for the next 24 hours.

Rainfall activity is likely to continue till October 5 under the impact of a low-pressure area over north-west and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal.
The regional centre has issued yellow warning for 12 districts of Odisha with a forecast of heavy rainfall in Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Bargarh, Boudh, Ganjam, Puri, Subarnapur, Nayagarh, Rayagada, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts.
Fishermen have been warned not to venture into sea for the next 24 hours due to rough weather conditions.
Similarly, the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar will witness cloudy skies with spells of moderate to heavy rain and thundershower. Several parts of the two cities may experience intense rain till 8.30am of October 4, the regional centre sources said.
