Bhubaneswar: The Regional Centre of India Meteorological Centre here issued heavy rainfall alert for 21 districts for Tuesday till 10.30am.
The alerted districts are Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Cuttack (including Cuttack city area), Khurda, (including Bhubaneswar city), Angul, Boudh, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Sundargarh & Sonepur. These districts are likely to witness light to moderate thundershower.
The weathermen asked the people in these districts to remain indoors. Those who are outside due to some unavoidable works during the predicted time have been asked to take shelters in safer places.
The weathermen also predicted for some of these districts to experience water logging and flashflood like situation. Roads and kutcha houses may also suffer damages due to torrential rains.
The IMD had Monday issued red warning (take action) for Tuesday and Wednesday for Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Angul and Deogarh districts. Orange warning (be prepared) had also been issued for the same two days for Puri, Khurda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir and Kandhamal while yellow warning (be updated) had been issued for Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Kalahandi, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Nuapada, Nawarangpur, Malkangiri and Koraput districts.
