Bhubaneswar: Heavy rainfall is likely to lash most parts of the state, especially its northern areas from July 21, predicted the regional meteorological center of India Meteorological Department (IMD) Thursday.
As per the bulletin issued by the Met centre, a low pressure is likely to be formed over the northwest Bay of Bengal July 21. It is expected to turn into a depression July 22.
Under its influence, heavy to very heavy rainfall is predicted to lash most parts of the state till July 23.
Because of the turbulent sea condition during this period, fishermen have been warned against going deep into the waters.
Revenue and disaster minister Maheswar Mohanty Tuesday asked the district collectors to remain alert for any possible flood-like situation in the state.
