Bhubaneswar: Five districts in Odisha are likely to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours, the regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed Monday morning. According to an official, the IMD has issued yellow warnings for the district of Malkangiri, Koraput, Keonjhar, Nabarangpur and Mayurbhanj.
A low monsoon trap-line has been active over western Bay of Bengal from Jharkhand to south coast of Odisha (up to 1.5 kilometres from the sea level). Under its effect, a low pressure is likely to be formed over north-eastern Bay of Bengal along the west-central coast of Odisha in the next 48 hours, the IMD stated.

The coastal and interior districts like Kandhamal, Dhenkanal, Angul, Nuapada, Bolangir and Kalahandi will also witness heavy rainfall in the next 48 hours (Monday and Tuesday), the IMD official said.
