Balasore: Following heavy rainfall, several parts of Balasore district have been waterlogged which led to hindrance in road communication Wednesday.
According to a source, due to intense rainfall that occurred Tuesday night, Balasore-Remuna road witnessed extensive waterlogging, leading to traffic disruptions. Additionally, drain water entered several houses and business institutions in several sections of the locality.
The source further mentioned that similar waterlogging conditions were observed in Balia, Nuasahi, and other areas of Balasore.
A local alleged that this situation has arisen due to a lack of proper drainage system.

Notably, India Meteorological Department (IMD) Tuesday forecast that heavy rainfall is likely to lash Odisha till September 7 with a low-pressure area forming over Bay of Bengal.
Under its influence, Odisha is likely to experience widespread rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, till September 7.
The IMD has warned of temporary waterlogging in low-lying areas, poor visibility during intense spells of rain and traffic congestion in urban areas.
