Bhubaneswar: With the depression over the northwest Bay of Bengal intensifying into a deep depression, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to lash six districts of the state in the next 24 hours, the regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) here said Thursday.
The districts which are to bear the brunt of the inclement weather are Sundargarh, Bargarh, Nuapada, Bolangir, Kalahandi and Nabarangpur. It should be stated here that places in most of these district are facing a flood-like situation already.
Medium rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places of some of the remaining districts.
Meanwhile, the sea is likely to remain very rough for the next two days and fishermen have been advised not to go out with their boats for the next two days.
