Bhubaneswar: The south and interior parts of the state are likely to experience heavy rainfall over next 24 hours under influence of a monsoon trough line, regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) said Wednesday.
The monsoon trough line extending from east Uttar Pradesh to north Tamil Nadu through Odisha is likely to lead to heavy rains in the south interior districts and moderate to heavy rains in most other parts of the state, the centre added.
According to the afternoon weather bulletin of the centre, heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Cuttack, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Bolangir and Bargarh over next 24 hours.
During the same period, thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Khurdha, Puri, Kandhamal, Jagatsinghpur, Ganjam and Balasore.
The weather department has also issued lightning and thunderstorm warning for Bolangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Keonjhar, Balasore, Cuttack, Khurdha and Jajpur districts.
