Bhubaneswar: As there is a possibility of reopening of schools after December 31, 2020, the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha Friday directed all government and private schools across the state to sanitise and clean the institution campuses.
The decision is an indication towards the reopening of the higher secondary schools in the near future.
The official order stated, “Resumption of physical mode of learning in all higher secondary schools across the State is hampered due to Covid Pandemic since March 2020. The school campus needs sanitation and cleaning. Further, accessories & amenities like functional drinking water, toilets, classrooms, laboratory and equipments need to be brought to the pre-Covid situation.”
The department has directed all the principals to comply with the order and send a status report to the department within a week.
In the Unlock.7.0 guideline, the State government authorised the School and Mass Education department to take a call on the date of reopening of schools for students of Class IX to XII in a graded manner after consultation with stakeholders.
Earlier, the government had announced that schools will remain shut till December 31.
