Hindi film directors fell out with their star actors

The relationship between an actor and director in the film industry is very delicate and tricky to describe. Some keep their relationship ‘happy go lucky’ for the length of their entire career, some get into various controversies with their star actors.

Here are a few directors of Hindi film industry who got involved in a controversy with their star actor.

Luv Ranjan-Kartik Aaryan

Luv Ranjan not only gave Kartik Aaryan his first film, but also cast him in four of his films. However, it has been reported that Kartik had a fall out with his mentor over monetary issues, though both have refuted the rumors.

Ram Gopal Varma-Nisha Kothari

Nisha Kothari was one of Ram Gopal Varma’s prodigies who had a brief affair with Hindi films before disappearing from mainstream media. However, apart from her affair with Hindi films it was believed that Ram Gopal Varma was also having an affair with his actor. The affair soured and since then Nisha has not been seen in any film.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali-Ranbir Kapoor

Ranbir was working as an assistant director with Bhansali before the release of ‘Sawaariya’. However, Bhansali later complained that after the release of the film, Ranbir gave him a cold shoulder. Although none of them ever accepted their relationship going sour, but the fact remains that they have never worked together again.

Anurag Basu-Kangana Ranaut

Anurag Basu did us fans a major favor by casting Kangana in her debut film ‘Gangster’. However, their relationship turned sour when Anurag edited out major portions of Kangana from his film ‘Life in a Metro’ and did not seem to deliver on the promise that Kangana’s role would be significant.

Govinda-David Dhawan

David Dhawan and Govinda have done 17 films together, most of which are some of the biggest hits in the film industry. Their friendship and working chemistry went downhill when David decided to make a remake of ‘Shaukeen’ according to Govinda’s idea but decided to cast Rishi Kapoor instead of him.
