Champua: A sick honey badger that was rescued by forest officials from Bhuyansahi at Jyotipur reserve forest near Champua in Keonjhar district died while undergoing treatment Saturday.
According to reports, some locals of Bhuyansahi spotted the honey badger lying on soil following which they informed the forest personnel.
Ukhunda forester reached the spot at 5 am Saturday morning, rescued the animal and took it to Sarangi veterinary hospital. However, the animal died at 12 pm.
The honey badger died due to infection and severe cold, a veterinarian said.
