New Delhi, Aug 9: The Biju Janata Dal  (BJD) which helped in facilitating the triumph of the NDA candidate for the Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman said that they hope the newly-inducted Deputy Speaker can give importance to the regional parties.

Congratulating the NDA candidate for his coronation, BJD Parliamentary Party leader in the Rajya Sabha, Prasanna Acharya said that he hoped that the deputy chairman would also give attention to the regional parties.

“I was delighted to know that he belongs to the same village from where the freedom fighter and revolutionary leader Jai Prakash Narayan was born. He is inspired the ideology of Jai Prakash ji. During that a large number of men and women were inspired by the ideals of Jai Prakash ji,” Acharya said.

“I’m one the those young man of these days who is also inspired by the Loknayak Jai Prakash ji. When he will be seating at the center we hope the attention will be on those members who are seating at the center. Because most of the members belonging small parties, they have their seats at middle row and many times they complained that they are not given attention. So, we hope all those smaller parties will get the equal attention from the new Deputy Chairman,” said Acharya.

Acharya also thanked opposition candidate BK Hariprashad for maintaining the tradition of the Parliament.
