Cuttack: Passengers travelling in Howrah – Secunderabad Falaknuma Express had a narrow escape after one bogie of the train got derailed near Kapilas Road station Thursday.
As per preliminary reports, the last bogie which included the luggage and guard van jumped the tracks and the East Coast Railway Authorities (ECoR) termed it as a small derailment.
“It was a minor incident as only one bogie of the train got derailed while all the passengers are safe,” said ECoR Chief Public Relations Officer, J P Mishra.
Mishra further informed that after the bogie is detached and after a thorough security check, the train has resumed its scheduled journey.
The entire exercise took one and half hour to rectify it. He informed that an inquiry has been initiated to know the exact reason of the derailment.
