Deogaon (Bolangir): Despite so-called stringent steps to curb leakage of question papers of HSC board examinations that concluded Friday, social science papers surfaced on social media Friday- the last day of the exams, reports said.
Sources said, question papers comprising Geography, Economics, History and Political Science went viral on various social media platforms minutes after the commencement of the examination. This makes it the fifth leakage after question papers of Mathematics, Odia (MIL), Hindi and English went viral.
While reports suggested that the Set B question papers of the subject were circulated through mobile phones in Deogaon area of Bolangir district, the BSE is yet to confirm the place of circulation even as BSE President Jahan Ara Begum confirmed that the paper was indeed leaked.
Commenting on the incident, Jahan Ara said, “Yes, the papers have been leaked. We are examining the case. But, we are yet to confirm the place of the circulation. I have directed authorities to examine the case and appropriate action will be taken against those found guilty.”
However, sources said, there is no such plan of re-examination as the question papers were spread only after the commencement of the exam.
Meanwhile, Jahan Ara said that the examination committee will meet March 12 to discuss on irregularities that occurred this year and take appropriate steps about paper evaluation.
“The committee will meet on March 12 and discuss about paper leaks, missing of OMR sheets and cancellation of English paper at three centres,” she said. “The next phase is evaluation and we have begun preparations for that. The process will start from March 25,” she concluded. Earlier, 108 OMR sheets of Mathematics had gone missing from SSD High School in Malkangiri.
