Bhubaneswar, August 28: As part of reforms in education system, the state government for the first time, plans to introduce online filling up of forms for the High School Certificate (HSC) Examination, indicated School and mass education minister Devi Prasad Mishra Friday.
Immediately after holding a meeting of officials of the Board of Secondary Education here, the mass education minister said the forms for the HSC examination-2016 will be filled up in October while the examination will commence in the third week of February 2016.
The high-level official meeting, presided over by the minister, discussed various problems affecting the students every year during and after the examinations such as wrong figures being posted in the mark sheets, names often misspelt in the certificates and similar anomalies. Efforts were being made to eliminate errors and ensure smooth conduct of examinations free from lacunae this time, he told reporters.
The district education officer will be trained and assigned responsibilities to oversee and monitor online filing of forms and submission of error-free information before the forms are actually filled up in October, the Board officials said.
Elaborate measures to evade delay in announcement of results were discussed at the meeting, sources said. The candidates should learn thoroughly the online procedure before the forms are filled in. This should be taken care of by the district education officers and headmasters of schools.
Meanwhile, the online registration of students of class IX will be taken up in the second week of September, said Board of Secondary Education (BSE) president Dakhya Prasad Nanda.
