Jagatsinghpur: A human skeleton was recovered from an abandoned house at Kiadingiri Brahmanasahi village under Erasama police limits in Jagatsinghpur district.
The skeleton was recovered Saturday afternoon but it has become a matter of discussion Sunday as the police are tight-lipped in this regard.
While the police investigation is still on to identify the deceased, the body is suspected to be that of Shankar Swain, a resident of neigbouring Bailo village.
According to sources, the house is owned by one Saroj Mishra, a resident of Brahmanasahi village. He has settled in Cuttack for many years. The house had been lying abandoned for a long period.
Saroj had come to his house November 21 afternoon. As he opened the door, a whiff of odour caught him. Smelling a rat, he informed the police. Upon reaching, the police carried out a search and recovered a skeleton.
They have launched a probe in this regard.
