Baripada: A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation for a number of projects worth Rs 4,500 crore in Mayurbhanj, MP Ramchandra Hansda alleged that the Prime Minister failed to fulfill the expectations of the people in this district.
The NDA government did nothing for the development of the Railways and create jobs, he added.
The MP, who has been suspended from BJD for his alleged complicity in chit fund scam, was visibly upset over some caustic remarks made by a Union Minister at him during PM’s meeting. However, he did not name the Union minister.
Addressing the media here Sunday, Hansda warned that he would move court against the Union Minister.
Training his gun at the BJD, Hansda also said that local BJD leaders do not want suspension order on him be revoked.
He pointed out that Railway service was first launched in 1904 in Mayurbhanj. “Though over a 100 year has passed since then, the development of Railways in the region was not up to mark. The Central government has been neglecting the Railways under the Kharagpur division. He had been pressing for rail connectivity between Bangiriposi and Gorumahisani and from Badampahad to Keonjhar,” he asserted.
It may be noted here that CBI had arrested Hansda November 4, 2014 for his complicity in chit fund scam. Later he was suspended from BJD. He was granted bail by the Supreme Court in July, 2018.
