Rourkela: The Hindu Veer Vahini, a socio-cultural organisation, Sunday staged a protest march over violence against the Hindu community in Bangladesh amid the political unrest. Over a thousand people from various pro-Hindu organisations participated in the rally. Besides, several BJP leaders lent their support to the protest march which started from Bisra Chowk, one of the main intersections of the city, and terminated near Udit Nagar Chowk. The main purpose of the march was to highlight the plight of the minority Hindus in Bangladesh amid the unrest and lawlessness after the exit of Seikh Haseena as the prime minister.
Besides, the organisations have also asked the administration to identify the illegal migrants from Bangladesh. One of the advisors of the outfit, Kedar Mohanty said, “It is high time we Hindus fight for our rights. If we don’t show our strength then no one is going to listen to us.”
