Jharsuguda: In a tragic incident, two youths went missing in River Ib as a Hyva truck they were travelling in fell off Rampela bridge Tuesday afternoon.
The missing youths were identified as Jitendra Pradhan and Aurobindo Sahu from Barakani village under Banaharpali police limits in Jharsuguda district.

According to reports, Jitendra and Aurobindo along with driver Aditya Sahu were going in the Hyva truck towards Ib Thermal area in Jharsuguda from Rengali in Sambalpur district. However, the driver lost control over the vehicle while on the bridge. The Hyva truck skidded off the bridge and fell into Ib after breaking the barriers.
Eyewitnesses said that the Hyva truck completely submerged in the swelling Ib after falling into it.
On being informed, local police and fire service personnel reached the spot and launched a rescue operation. While driver Aditya was rescued, the two youths were missing till filing of this report.
Hyva driver Aditya was shifted to a private hospital after being referred from Jharsuguda hospital, police sources said.
