‘If not for COVID-19 lockdown, Sushant Singh Rajput would have been alive today’

Shocking! Sushant Singh Rajput googled for 'painless death' on internet

Mumbai: If it was not for nationwide lockdown due to COVID-19, late actor Sushant Singh Rajput would have been alive today and busy shooting for a film.

Speaking to Mumbai Mirror, screenwriter Rumi Jaffery stated he was about to make a film with Sushant Singh Rajput and his rumoured girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty. The shooting of the movie was supposed to begin in May.

So, Sushant would have been busy shooting for the movie and would not be depressed, Jaffery added. Meanwhile, it is being said that Sushant was running out of work which became reason for his depression and led him to commit suicide.

According to Rumi, he was about to start shooting for the film in Mumbai and finish in Punjab via London. It was a dance based romantic comedy film with Sushant and his alleged girlfriend Rhea in the lead role.

“Sushant did not have ‘too many friends in the industry’. But the actor was passionate about his work. Rumi said SSR was reading his script during the lockdown and was keen on a joint narration. Sushant was looking forward to starting work soon but the lockdown was postponing his plans. He would get upset because he wanted to get back to work and rehearse,” Rumi stated.

Rumi also believes that after the film Chhichhore directed by Nitesh Tiwari, many producers and directors were ready to work with Sushant. Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Nirupam has hinted that Sushant’s lost big movies in the last six months.

He added, the day he learnt about Sushant’s former manager Disha Salian’s passing away, he texted Sushant and urged him to “take care.”

“He replied with four hearts and ‘love you sir’, promising to catch up soon,” Rumi revealed.
