IFS officer in Odisha vigilance net; raids across properties in Odisha, Mumbai

Bhubaneswar: One of the biggest search operations was conducted Wednesday by more than 150 vigilance officials at 12 locations including several places of Odisha and Mumbai and Pune of Maharashtra to trace out incriminating documents and disproportionate assets in connection with a case holding of illegal assets by 1987-batch IFS Officer Abhay Kant Pathak.

“More than 150 vigilance officers and other officials have been deployed for the operations and are conducting searches at 5 places in Bhubaneswar, and 7 places at Mumbai and Pune in Maharashtra. Teams consisting of Chartered Accountant, bank officers and officers of Cyber cell are assisting in the investigation,” said a vigilance official.

Currently, Pathak serves as Odisha Additional PCCF ( Plan, Program and  Afforestation).

Based on the warrant issued by Vigilance Special Judge Court Bhubaneswar, separate teams of the anti-corruption wing are conducting  the search drive.

Searches are also underway at different places in Bihar and Udaipur in Rajasthan.

“In Pune, Pathak’s farm house at 115, Hill Town area in Bhugaon and a flat at God’s Blessings Apartment in Koregaon Park are being searched,” said officials.

The officials will reveal about the exact amount of disproportionate assets that the IFS officer has possessed after the completion of the search operation.
