Bhubaneswar: Five districts are likely to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours as a cyclonic circulation has formed over West Bengal and adjoining areas of Bangladesh. Under its impact, a low pressure area is expected over West Bengal and its nearby areas.
Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Bargarh and Jharsuguda are the five districts to get lashed, the regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) here said Sunday.
Most parts of the state are also likely to experience mild to moderate rainfall.
According to the IMD bulletin, in past 24 hours between Saturday 8:00am and Sunday 8:00am, several places of the state experienced rainfall.
Jharsuguda topped the list with 78.2mm, followed by Baripada, Cuttack, Talcher, Bhubaneswar and Sundargarh and receiving 63.4mm, 39.4mm, 35mm, 28mm and 25mm respectively.
