IMD predicts heavy rainfall over these Odisha districts

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar in its weather bulletin issued a Yellow Warning for heavy rainfall over nine districts of Odisha.

Upto 8.30 AM of August 22: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Bolangir, Subarnapur, Boudh, Nayagarh, Khurda and Puri districts.

The weather further predicted that heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over Bolangir, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Angul, Cuttack, Khurda and Puri districts.

In the same timeframe, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.

From 8.30 AM of August 22 to 8.30 AM of August 23: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Nuapada, Bolangir, Sonepur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh, Nayagarh, Khurda, Puri, and Ganjam districts.

The weather further predicted that heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over Subarnapur, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Angul, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore districts.

In the same timeframe, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of north interior Odisha and at many places over the remaining districts of the state.

In Bhubaneswar, for the next 24 hours, IMD forecast rain or thundershower likely to occur towards afternoon or evening. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 32 degree Celsius and 25 degree Celsius respectively.

In the last 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature of 35.5 degree Celsius was recorded at Paralakhemundi while the lowest minimum temperature of 23.0 degree Celsius was recorded at Nuapada, the weather bulletin informed.
