Bhubaneswar: As many as 11 districts of Odisha have experienced deficient rainfall whereas Boudh district has experienced ‘excess rainfall’ from June 1 till August 26 this year, the regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar informed Saturday.
The remaining 18 districts of the state have experienced normal rainfall.
In the ‘Monsoon seasonal cumulative rainfall and departure report’, the weather agency informed that all Odisha cumulative rainfall was recorded at 778.4 mm which is below the normal figure of 856.7mm.
The weather agency further informed that over the next five days, the rainfall is expected to be normal and weak monsoon conditions likely to persist.
IMD has also issued Yellow Warning for thunderstorms over many districts in Odisha.
Upto 8.30 AM of August 27: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Sundargarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts.
In the same timeframe, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam and at a few places over the remaining districts of the state.

From 8.30 AM of August 27 to 8.30 AM of August 28: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati and Ganjam districts.
In the same time frame, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of south interior Odisha, Gajapati, Ganjam and at one or two places over the rest districts of the state.
In Bhubaneswar, for the next 24 hours, a generally cloudy sky with light rain is predicted by IMD. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 33 degree Celsius and 25 degree Celsius respectively.
