Kendrapara: A senior teacher and in charge headmaster of an upper primary school was placed under suspension for attending school in a drunken state and allegedly outraging the modesty of a minor girl student
Mahakalpara Bock Education officer (BEO) Ajay Kumar Parida, Saturday suspended Sarojkanta Barik, the in-charge headmaster of Nila Kantheswar Model Upper Primary School in Posei under Balipala GP of Mahakalpara block.
The teacher was found attending schools in an inebriated condition. Action has also been taken for his alleged involvement in outraging the modesty of a class- VI girl student of the school September 11 and 12 last.
The victim girl narrated the incident to her parents who along with the fellow villagers brought the matter to the notice of the village education committee and also the BEO of Mahakalpara.
Saturday, Parida directed the CRCC Natabara Sahu to conduct an inquiry. But, the villagers detained the CRCC. Finally, Parida rushed to the spot and conducted an inquiry by recording the statement of the victim.
The headmaster in charge was suspended for attending the classes in an inebriated condition and also outraging the modesty of a class 6th girl student, the BEO said.
The locals later released the CRCC from their detention. However, no FIR in this regard has been lodged at Mahakalpara police station, the IIC of Mahakalpara police station said.
