In this temple devotees receive gold, silver as ‘prasad’

There are many temples in India that are unique in themselves. One such unique temple is located in Ratlam district in Madhya Pradesh.

Generally in temples, devotees get sweets or some food items as ‘prasad’, but in this temple of Mahalaxmi, devotees receive ornaments. Devotees who come here for ‘darshan’ also go home with gold and silver coins.

This temple witnesses worshippers throughout the year who offer jewelry and cash at the feet of the goddess.

It is such an astonishing sight wherein devotees’ pour in such large amounts to seek her grace. The authorities fall short of space to accommodate everything.

During Diwali, a ‘Kuber darbar’ is organized and the devotees who come here are given ornaments and money in the form of ‘prasad’. On this day, the temple’s doors are kept open 24 hours and it is also said that no devotee goes empty handed on the day.

The tradition of offering jewelry and money in the temple has been going on for decades. Earlier the kings here used to offer money in the temple for the prosperity of the state and now devotees are also offering jewelry, money, etc. at the feet of mother. It is believed that by doing this, the blessings of mother Lakshmi will be always upon them.
