Betanati: One of the eight candidates contesting from the Badasahi Assembly constituency has adopted a novel way of campaigning: He goes around on a bicycle appealing to the people to vote for him.
Independent MLA candidate Rabindra Nath Sethi (51) belongs to Talatikiri village under Bangiriposhi block. The Badasahi Assembly seat being a reserved segment for Scheduled Castes, he has left Bangiriposhi area and is contesting from this Assembly constituency.
He is staying in a rented house at Betanati and urging the locals to vote for the Letter Box symbol. His mode of transport is a bicycle. Sethi claims he has passed M.A. in Economics from the Utkal University.
He, being a marginal farmer with a small patch of land, earns his livelihood from farming. Sethi is hopeful of winning the election on his own, without taking any financial help from anyone. If candidates like him are elected, it will be a great lesson for those who win with money and muscle power, he said.
