India beat Kiwis by 35 runs, win series 4-1

Wellington: India defeated New Zealand by 35 runs to win the fifth ODI here Sunday. Chasing a victory target of 253, the hosts were bowled out for 217 in 44.1 overs. Yuzvendra Chahal (3/41) was the most successful bowler for India while Mohammed Shami and Hardik Pandya took two wickets apiece.

Earlier India had scored 252 all out in 49.5 overs with Ambati Rayudu emerging top scorer with a well made 90. He was well-supported by Hardik Pandya (45) and Vijay Shankar (45).

India thus comprehensively won the five-game series 4-1.
