Bhubaneswar: Defending champions India retained the U-20 SAFF Championships title defeating Bangladesh 5-2 in the final at the Kalinga Stadium here Friday. The match ended 2-2 in regulation time. Gurkirat Singh was the star performer for India scoring four goals in the match as he single-handedly destroyed Bangladesh.

It was sweet revenge for India as they had lost to Bangladesh 1-2 in the tournament opener. However, when it mattered the most the Indian players came good and took home the trophy.
