Chatrapur: On the occasion of Indian Navy Day, students of Government ITI, Chatrapur in Odisha’s Ganjam district have built a replica of indigenous warship INS Vikrant using scraps.

The width of the replica is said to be 10 feet and length is 70 feet. The ITI students have dedicated the replica to the Indian Navy.

According to an ITI teacher who was closely associated with the project, the design of the replica was crafted a year ago.

Subsequently, the institute’s fitter and welder students utilised scrap materials such as iron, tyres, net, and plastic to construct the frame. Later, a vertical garden was planted to enhance the aesthetic appeal and create a pleasant environment within the campus. The replica is also illuminated with lights for night-time attraction.

Earlier, using scrap materials, students of Government ITI had previously constructed a replica of Biju Patnaik’s Dakota aircraft.
